When we eat protein, in the form of a shake, a steak or a chicken it all goes to get digested, from there it is broken down into amino acids which are called the building blocks of protein, not just of the protein we've just eaten but also our own muscle protein. These building blocks are shuttled around the body to where they are needed and after a hard workout where we have just damaged our muscles and they need repair, these amino acids will be required by the muscles to be used to grow back bigger and stronger!
